How to create a helical cable in the Cabling application

Hi friends. I'm researching that how to create helical cable in cabling. I found a method but it's not practical.

My method is;

1. Create curve through helical sweep
2. Create a ratio datum point that is located on the helical sweep.
3. pattern point by increment 0.01
4. Route the cable through these points

Disadvantage of this method, there are too much points (about 50-100) and ı have to select these one by one. (can't select as a whole by shift key).

Do you know another method (and more practical) to create a helical cable in the cabling application. Help Please?
