How can you route more than one wire to the same pin in a connector? When I try I get an error that reads "cannot route more than one cable to WIRE entry port." I have seen models that have two wires in the same entry port.

Minneapolis/St Paul user group?
Are there any other Schematics users in the area that would like to share what they are doing and what they have learned?
There is a lot to learn in Schematics and sometimes bouncing ideas off others in person or seeing how other people do things can help.

Autorouting Cables with Creo Schematics
Hello everyone,
can someone explain me necessary information vor entry ports to automatically route wires from xml file?
I found these information are necessary for port, but i cant find "PINS" from schematics table only "num_of_pins". Is there another parameter for this?
ENTRY_PORT | yes or no | yes or no |
GROUPING | string | round, flat, or wire |
INTERNAL_LEN | real number | |
PINS | string | 1, or 1,2, ..., or 1(A), 2(B), 3(C), ... |
Hope you can understand my question, i appreciate any help here

Help with Creating Hydraulic Schematics in Creo Schematics
Recently our internal hydraulics group was informed that Creo Schematics 2.0 will be the new tool for creating hydraulic schematics. Unfortunately I have little experience with this software but I am very familiar with other PTC products such as Pro-E wildfire 4 and now Creo 2.0. Does anyone in the PTC community have some on how to make hydraulic schematics in Creo 2.0 without purchasing the symbol library offering from virtual interconnect? Specifically I am looking for help on the following topics:
Creating and modifying ISO 1219 hydraulic schematic symbols
Importing previous RSD files into Creo Schematics
Setting up a library or catalog of symbols for the rest of our hydraulics group to use to creating hydraulic schematics
Building new schematic symbols from existing library symbols

How to create composite drawings with Creo Schematics and Creo Parametric Procabling?
Best practices to reduce design turn around time
As per our experience it takes 1 day to do simple design changes and to keep the design parametric from Creo Schematics till Creo Parametric and drawing.
What is your experience? If it is couple of minutes, can you share the best practices followed?
I need model air pipes
Hi all,
I'm new user in managing modules like piping or cabling, so I prefer ask to people with more experience.
I need to model air pipes like SMC or FESTO components, specially air pipes.
SInce now I've do this with the "pipe" feature:
1)Insert > Advanced > pipe... Hollow
2)multiple rad
3)choose external diameter and thick
4) spline, add points.
So I needed a set of points to make the path of the spline. I inserted them with an offset to coordinate system, moving them by hand and by sight to let the pipe doesn't hurt the rest of components.
All of this is not much comfortable and the pipe doesn't follow a path made by straight lines because the spline has a different trajectory. however make it with a standard feature would require much time and some external references, and I want avoid this.
Is Piping or cabling module one right way to do what I need?

Multi level Cables versus Single level Cables
I'm looking for more pros and cons on this issue. We have discovered an issue with Multilevel cables.
On Multilevel cables, Creo Parametric "does not" read the cable diameter and minimum bend radius ! It is a known issue that the thickness and min_bend_radius is not brought over. The recommendations is to use assign_min_bend and assign_thickness on the <name>- item in the model tree.
I find this sad that this hasn't been fixed yet.
It's also interesting that Multi level cables are now overbraids and they don't autoroute. I'm sure there are some reason behind this, that I won't go into. There are some tweaks you have to do in order to manually route the overall diameter, but the diameter is not correct and you have to mess with parameters listed above, basically making the darn thing "non parametric".
This has a big impact on our shielded cable shapes with pairs. Because of this, we are leaning towards creating all of our cable shapes as single level
and removing the pairs and just the cable cosmetics to show the pairs. What are the draw backs doing it this way? One thing I see as you move pins around the cable cosmetics will get messy.
Please chime in if you have some comments on this.
Thanks
Overbraid for multilevel cables not the correct diameter
The problem with routing a multilevel cable is;
1. The overall diameter does not autoroute
2. The PTC fix is to create and modify an overbraid. It's a manual process, but the overall cable diameter is not correct.
An SPR 2256306 has been filed for the issue and is being investigated
by R&D.

Color code parameter in Cable spool ?, how it is usefull in harness deisgn?
While creating a Wire/Cable there are some Parameters like Color Code... what is the use of this color code?
Central Catalog on shared drive
We have been successful in having outside collaborators share our Central Catalog, however we have noticed a few things.
Using VPN for an outside collaborator, maybe an issue with speed. The Schematics app is seems slow when it accesses the CC and when we drop in a 15pair cable it takes about 30 seconds to a minute to do something.
Is this normal?
Display Thick Pipes - Change colour?
Hi,
Anyone knows how to change the colour for "Display Thick Pipes" in Piping? My models always have a dark blue color for this.
Logical Reference File - Cable will not autoroute
Hello,
I have successfully autorouted some wires in Wildfire 4 using a Logical Reference File, but I cannot get the same thing to work using a cable. I modified my original Logical Reference File to replace the 3 Wire Spools with a single Screened Twisted Pair Cable Spool.
I am told that nothing has been autorouted because there is insufficient entry port data.
The connectors are the same as they were when it autorouted the wires, so they must (?) be OK. Therefore, in my mind, the problem must lie either in the Cable Spool definition (not likely, I believe), or in the information telling Pro/E which pins to connect using which conductors.
I cannot find a definitive guide to the syntax of this information, so I have attached the relevant portion of my Logical Reference File. Can you see what I have done wrong here?
Thanks,
John
