Unintended dimensions updation
Hi,
Are you facing unintended dimension changes for below scenarios?
Sl No | Scenarios for Dimension change discussion |
1 | Wire length not matching between Table and Layout dimension |
2 | Deleting and re-routing the wires |
3 | Disassembling & assembling the same connector/s |
4 | Updation of Spools & wire gauges |
5 | Regeneration of flattening causes unintentional dimension changes |
6 | Adding or deleting a wire |
7 | Adding or deleting a bundle |
8 | New location added in existing network path segment |
9 | Change in network path at particular location, other dimension also gets affected which are not intentional |
10 | In flattening process, modifying branch out angle of 1 branch, leads to dimension changes in nearby branches connected to he bundle. |
11 | Deleting and adding the tape in same location |
12 | Deleting a particular portion of harness and reflatten, the dimensions are getting changed in other location (unintended location) |
eCAD (Creo Schematic Management) in Windchill
How to Manage Creo Schematics files in Windchill?
Is the whole Creo Schematic file can be managed in Windchill as eCAD file with version tracking?
Is the XML file can be managed in Windchill with version tracking synching with Creo Schematic, Procable & Drawing versions?
Does anyone actually embedded in this in your organization?
Schematics Admin 101
Hi Schematics Community!
We are launching a WHDP project and configuring Schematics and Parametric for the first time and will be a frequent contributor from here on out! Yay!
So I"m a Creo Paramteric admin guy and wishing I had a config option to set the default Location.
Is there such a way to acheive this?
Splices in bundles
Hello,
I am rather new to Creo Parametric 2.0 (always used other programs).
I add the splice using the Insert Component button in the Cabling ribbon.
I am having trouble with splices and adding them in bundles.
I end the bundle at the splice and start a new one, but one of the sides always comes up with an error that the cable diverges from the bundle and can't add them.
The red one is the bundle above the splice. As you can see the bundle under the splice is fine.
Is there a way for me to forcefully add the wires to bundle?
Thank you in advance,
Ron
Cannot Print in CREO 2 Schematics
We are setting up CREO 2.0 M020 Schematics. We have gotten to the place that we want to print out our schematic. When I hit the OK from the Print screen, all that happens is the Print box closes and I do not get my windows printer or anything. I cannot even do a print preview. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix for this? My consultant has the same build and Print works just fine on their computer.
Thank you,
Brian Toussaint
cabling
I am new for Creo2-Cabling, Please help? would like to create Hose pipe for cables in assembly. I am expecting step by step procedure.
Piping line lengths for multiple assemblies...
Hi All...
In my business we create master piping assemblies that represent electrical connections from point A to point B. Each A to B connection is comprised of multiple piped components created within the top assembly. I need to generate a report of overall lengths for each A to B run. I can get the individual component line lengths easy enough, but am looking for an automated way to get an output of the overall A to B connection (calculated total length of all the sub components end to end).
Is there an easy way to do this within the base Creo package or would this have to be a special tool?
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help...

Getting Cosmetics (Tie Wraps, Markers, Tape) to Show in BOM?
In Creo Parametric 2.0 Cabling, how do you get the tie wraps, tape and markers to show up in your BOM table after you've placed them in your routing? I've tried numerous combintations of electrical report parameters, but cannot get these to show up. Also, does anyone know where I can get a list that shows me what the various report parameter abreviations mean? For example: I assume asm... means assembly, harn... means harness etc..., but what do the others mean? Thanks!
Problems in cabling (flatening, documentation)
I am working on Cabling assemblies. I have layout of the wires on my assembly connecting different entry ports of different connectors to differentdentry ports of diffeternt other connectors following different networks or manual routings.
Problems i am facing are :
1. During flattening of the harness, when i fan out the cables to the connector it gives an error " insufficient wire length" I am unable to understand how to remove this problem.
2. In some cases we need to drop wire on a connector from both sides of the connectors as shown in the image. But when we flat the model we are unable to terminates the wires on same point, rather we get two segmants that do not terminate on same connector.
3. when in creat the from-to table of the wires it does not automatically poputale. I need a table that contains the details of all the wires i.e length of wire, starting connector, starting port, termination connector, termination port, etc

Cable bundle allignment
Hello,
My bundle allignment seems bugged.
The dotted line is my network, the full lines are the bundles.
This is what I get when it is NOT alligned.
And is what I get when it IS alligned.
Why does it turn around 1 of my bundle when it is alligned?
And how do I fix this?
I've tried alligning them to different points, in different orders, all at the same time, all seperatly.
But that 1 bundle always seems to turn around.
Connector pin-out tables
Hello All,
First time poster in need of help. I created connector pin-out tables in my drawing, and used model /rep to poulate them. Some of the cells in my table will not populate. One connector has pins a thru f, but the table omitted -pin "d". Two tables have missing signal names in one column. I cheked to make sure these parameters were filled out in the connector parameters. Double checked to ensure the wires were routed correctly. I also verified the info from the XML file was the same. Everything seems correct, but I stll have empty cells. Has anyone seen this before?
Thank you in advance.
Placing cross/4-way branch fittings with Spec-driven piping.
Fellow ProENGINEER/CREO users,
I'm having the following issue(s):
- How to route a pipeline so that a proper 4-way branch connection is made?
- How to place/configure a 4-way branch fitting in combination with spec-driven piping?
I've allready searched the entire (for as far as that is possible) PTC Knowledgebase and PTC help-files, there is however no documentation on how to even route a 4-way branch connection.
Examples/explanations that use non-spec driven piping are also of help!
If there is more information needed please let me know!
Thanks in Advance,
With Kind Regards,
Hein van den Broek
Creo Schematics 2.0 functions
Does anyone have a complete list of the default functions in Creo Schematics 2.0? I am trying to create a report that would output a group's sheet location using the location set information for the sheet but I can't determine what function call to use in my report.
model/rep opens file open menu and doesnt give option of selecting a part
Hi Charles,
I am trying to set up Connector pin out tables and not sure how to get model/rep to recognize a part instead of a file? When I click on model rep it brings up a file open menu and doesnt give me option of selecting a part? can anyone help me set this up........
Thanks
Creo Parametric 2 missing functionality of Wildfire 4??
We are in a situation where schedule is being impacted in a bad way. Cabling designer believes that capabilities in Wildfire 4 have been lost in Creo Parametric 2. Things he could do in Wildfire 4 can no longer be done with Creo Parametric 2. Is that known to be the case?
Need help understanding membermaps for Cables in RSD/Creo schematics
I have this quoted from the RSD help file - "The membermap defines names (column A and B) and datasets (column C) for all members of this group. Columns D, E, and F specify the port members of each cable fiber. The membermap must contain all members that can exist in the variable group. The map values for members not in the group are created as spare cores or cables, but not ports. A membermap cannot be applied to a group instance if all members for that instance are not specified." This note accompanies this screenshot in the help;
I don't understand the relationship between port members and and a fiber in a cable group. Shouldn't a fibre representing a conductor in a multiconductor cable have no more than two ports, one for each end of the fiber? I know this may sound uninformed. But, I can't seem to find any info about ports and the definition of ports with respect to fibers (as belonging to a fiber). Can anyone clear up this confusion for me?
NWF File - "NEW CABLE"
Hey everyone,
I've been working on some automation and techniques related to the Cabling environment, and while exploring these areas, I came across a few questions about Creo's native capabilities.
Most examples I've seen will define cables as independent wires. You will have "NEW WIRE_SPOOL"s and "NEW WIRE"s to define an array of wires in a harness model.
However, I know its possible to define both cable spools and cable definitions through the NWF file.
NEW CABLE_SPOOL | CABLE_SPOOL_1 | 3 |
PARAMETER UNITS | INCH | |
PARAMETER NUM_CONDUCTORS | 3
PARAMETER THICKNESS | 0.7
PARAMETER MIN_BEND_RADIUS | 10
PARAMETER WIRE_GAUGE | 0.0
CONDUCTOR | 1 | |
PARAMETER UNITS | INCH | |
PARAMETER COLOR | WHT | |
PARAMETER THICKNESS | 0.1
PARAMETER MIN_BEND_RADIUS | 2
PARAMETER WIRE_GAUGE | 0.0
PARAMETER CONDUCTOR_NAME | 2463
PARAMETER COND_ID | 1 | |
CONDUCTOR | 2 | |
PARAMETER UNITS | INCH | |
PARAMETER COLOR | BLU | |
PARAMETER THICKNESS | 0.1
PARAMETER MIN_BEND_RADIUS | 2
PARAMETER WIRE_GAUGE | 0.0
PARAMETER CONDUCTOR_NAME | 2475
PARAMETER COND_ID | 2 | |
CONDUCTOR 3 | ||
PARAMETER UNITS | INCH | |
PARAMETER COLOR | RED | |
PARAMETER THICKNESS | 0.15
PARAMETER MIN_BEND_RADIUS | 2
PARAMETER WIRE_GAUGE | 0.0
PARAMETER CONDUCTOR_NAME | 2451
PARAMETER COND_ID | 3 |
With that spool definition defined, we can similarly define a cable using the following format:
NEW CABLE | CABLE_1 | CABLE_1 | CABLE_SPOOL_1
CONDUCTOR | 1 | |||
ATTACH | CONNECTOR_1 | 2 | CONNECTOR_2 | 1 |
CONDUCTOR | 2 | |||
ATTACH | CONNECTOR_1 | 3 | CONNECTOR_3 | 1 |
CONDUCTOR | 3 | |||
ATTACH | CONNECTOR_2 | 2 | CONNECTOR_3 | 2 |
This NWF format will import and parse into Creo appropriately, but when I go to actually autoroute the cables, it seems as though Creo cannot find the entry ports on the appropriate connectors (post-designation, of course), meaning it will not actually perform any autorouting. However, if I model the cable instead as several independent "NEW WIRE"s (aka, 3 NEW WIRE instead of 1 NEW CABLE), it finds the appropriate connector entry's as expected, and autoroutes just fine.
Has anyone had any experience using CABLES in NWF files instead of WIRES? I've attached an example NWF file here.
Thanks,
Sully
Help with Creo
Hi all,
I'm new to PTC and Creo, and I just started working through the 'How to Model Almost Anything' .zip cirriculum that you can find floating around here somewhere. But whenever I try to open the assembly of the first exercise -- a bike -- after setting the correct directory, nothing happens. I don't even get an error message. I can open part models in the same manner, and it works, but not assemblies. Am I missing something completely obvious? I'd appreciate any help you have time to offer.
Thanks,
Jack
PRO-piping fitting parameters and isogen symbol
Could any one help me about following questions:
1. How the part parameters are linked with pcf file, how the parameters are connected with isogen attribute map file?
2. How to configure an user defined symbol for userdefined fittings in isogen/i-configure?
Thanx in advance.
